What does Mashing Unit contain?
Mashing unit is ususlly called Brewhouse. The basic tanks and accessories are listed below.
The tanks can be combined to meet the needs of different beer and mashing methods.
Mash Tun | Function: mashing (convert the starches in crushed grains into sugars for fermentation) Material: SUS304 or red copper cladding Decoction mashing and infusion mashing Steam jacketed (optional) and insulation |
Lauter Tun | Function: filtering and clarifying the sugar liquid (called wort) out of the heated water-malt mixture (called mash) that comes from the mashing tun Material: SUS304 or red copper cladding V-wire false bottom Raker with motor Sight glass, CIP ball, etc for option |
Boiling Kettle | Function: boiling for sterilization, releasing of hop flavours, bitterness and aroma compounds through isomerization, stopping of enzymatic processes, precipitation of proteins, and concentration of the wort Material: SUS304 or red copper cladding Heating method: steam, electric or direct fire Steam jacketed & insulation |

Mashing System of different types
