Sicilyaddict was born from the desire to give voice to this rich land,
welcoming and fertile, which has always given life
to unique food and wine products, goodness appreciated all over the world, healthy and tasty products of the earth and excellent handicrafts that are often unique and rare.
Our story begins in Sicily, a wonderful land kissed by the sun and embraced by the sea, cradle of
civilisations and cultures thousands of years old, often the favourite subject of poets and travellers who have handed down
with their verses beauty and contradictions.
Precisely in Mirto, a small town perched in the Nebrodi mountains. An ancient village, founded in the Middle Ages, which serves as a bridge between different typicalities and traditions recently recovered.
With this project, we wanted to fill a still widespread knowledge gap in Sicilian production, revealing
the backstage of difficult productions, made unsustainable in the past due to the
competition from the large-scale retail trade.
How? By making known the stories of those who every day, with passion and commitment, continue to carry on the great production tradition in the food and wine sector of this wonderful land, cradle of civilisations and millenary cultures.
As producers, we wanted to recover and carry forward the ancient techniques and
great production traditions in the food sector of this land, proposing classic recipes, with a pinch of
of innovation.
We carefully select the best exclusive Sicilian raw materials,
km0 certified, GMO-free and organic, from a closed and controlled supply chain, to guarantee the highest quality of the final product.
The result is a series of certified food and wine excellences, to allow anyone, in any city in the world, to buy and taste fine Sicilian products
Sicily Addict is the fruit of a journey that began in 2000 with the passion and initiative of Giacomo Librizzi: a native Sicilian, passionate about food and digital marketing. Giacomo boasts, in fact, a strong experience in the sector, gained by working for years in the restaurant industry and in his family's supermarket. In 2012, he started the first e-commerce of typical Sicilian products, selecting small artisanal workshops that produced wonders to taste specifically for the Sicilianu brand - founded by Giacomo himself.
"We were among the first in Sicily to launch an online shop for regional products. After five years in business, I abandoned the project to devote myself to studying Digital Marketing,' says the creator of Sicily Addict. 'But you never forget your first love and so, after a year of sector studies and market research, I decided to launch sicilyaddict.it together with my brother. He keeps the role of videomaker of the company until now, we have a team composed of local talent and another of Digital Marketing experts who support us in the management of marketing campaigns and business strategy".
To date, the Sicily Addict team boasts collaborations with the best food and wine operators in Sicily such as star chefs, niche producers, oenologists, agronomists and nutritionists: this ensures that the choice of products is always made in a conscious and carefully controlled manner, respecting all the quality standards we have set ourselves.
