Introduction

 

The avocado (Persea americana) is a tree native to Central Mexico, commercially valuable and are cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climates throughout the world. Avocado soybean unsaponifiables (often referred to as ASU) are a natural vegetable extract made from avocado and soybean oils. As a dietary supplement, avocado soybean unsaponifiables have been shown in clinical studies to have beneficial effects on osteoarthritis symptoms.
