The company was founded by Dr. Shreyas Shah in 1985, who was a practicing physician himself. Being an entrepreneur at heart, he saw an opportunity in making quality, automatic washroom products for use in hospitals, operation theatres & pharmaceutical labs. Since his childhood, he has been very technically inquisitive, having understanding and love for electronic components and gadgets. That knowledge helped him start askon engineers in 1985 from his house making hand-dryers and soap dispensers as his part-time business.
As the sales grew, he bought a manufacturing unit at MIDC, Mumbai and with help of handful of employees began manufacturing hand-dryers & soap dispensers to cater to the growing demand.
