Properties: reddish brown long flake crystal or black powder. Sensitive to light. It is brown under transmitted light and steel blue under reflected light. It is easy to dissolve in dilute ammonia water, soluble in sodium hydroxide solution to generate heme, soluble in strong organic bases (such as trimethylamine and dimethylamine) and acetic acid, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid to lose iron, slightly soluble in 70% - 80% ethanol, almost insoluble in carbonate solution, dilute acid and water, stable in water. Agglomerate at 240 ℃ and do not melt at 300 ℃.
