1.The background for Cork Fabric:

Cork Fabric is made by the bark of Cork Oak tree that is mainly grows in Spain,Portugal and France. The moist sea breeze from Mediterranean coast irrigates the cork wood all year round, making it a treasure of the nature.

Usually, only the Cork Oak tree with a age of twenty or above and a diameter greater than 20 centre-meter can be first peeled and stripped.What is rarely known by most people is that cork wood can generate for eight or nine time. Once the barks protective layer has been peeled, it will regrow silently until it has became plump and thick next time. The plant, in itself, is a miracle.

2.How to make cork fabric sheet

When the barks are delivered to factory, it is boiled in water to make the cork cells expand. So it is easier to processing.From this processing we can see that there is no harsh chemicals such as formaldehyde used in this processing. Each piece of cork wood will be picked, cut, regrouped and polished. After dozens of processing, cork paper can be made but it is very thin that the thickness is only 0.22 mm ~ 0.25 mm. Cork paper is not easy to use so it always was adhesive with various basing for using, we call this cork fabric sheet.
