   The fluoroaluminate is formed by reacting anhydrous hydrofluoric acid with aluminum hydroxide, then reacting with potassium hydroxide at a high temperature, filtering, drying, melting, and crushing. It can also be prepared by reacting aluminum fluoride, ammonium fluoride and potassium chloride.

Physicochemical properties: traits White or light gray powder. Slightly soluble in water. Toxic! Product use: used as insecticide, ceramic, glass industry and aluminum brazing.

Potassium fluoroaluminate
Potassium fluoroaluminate (KalF4) is used for the production of welding agents, the production of soldering agents and for the production of abrasives.
Potassium fluoroaluminate is used in the the following applications:
Production of abrasives:
as active filler in resin-bonded abrasives for metal-treatment
Production of welding agents:
as components in coatings of welding rods and welding powders
Production of soldering agents:
as component of fluxing agents for soldering of aluminium
