Anthracite coal is commonly used as a filtration media in many water filtration applications.Are filtration materials for turbidity and SS removal. Since the specific gravity is lighter than that of Filter Sand, it is much used in combination with Filter Sand in dual-media filtration, to consist reverse grain layers after backwashing. In addition, because of high content carbon of this product, it has high resistance to various chemicals and high physical strength so that it is widely used for city and industrial water purification.

Dual media filtration avoids conventional "surface-only" filtration as found in sand filter beds. Particulate retention

occurs throughout the media (in-depth filtration) which offers considerable advantages, i.e. lower investment  costs

and reduced operating costs:

(1) longer run time between backwashes

(2) reduced pressure drop

(3) higher filtration speeds feasible

(4) reduced backwash-related downtime and costs

(5) higher treatment capacity

(6) improved filtrate quality

Application of Anthracite filter media

Anthracite filter is the best filter material is currently widely used. The main source of ore from Shanxi Jincheng and Yangcheng two coalfields. It uses a wide range of large adaptation range. Can be used for general rapid filter drinking water and industrial process water and various pool types. Two and three-filter, various water filters, water filters and chemical machinery, metallurgy, thermal power, pharmaceutical, paper, printing and dyeing, food production and water treatment.

Anthracite filter use for water supply and industrial water filtration and purification treatment, according to the form of filter parameters to determine when the use of dual-media thickness of the pavement is 300-400mm; normal filtration rate 10-14m / h, forced filtration rate 14-1 8m / h; three filter pavement thickness 450mm, normal filtration rate 18-20m / h, forced filtration rate 20 ~ 25m / h. Rinse with water filter backwash, supplemented by surface wash or rinse water vapor.
