The floating dock crane is a special hoisting facility. Due to the floating dock working in the river and sea, it is greatly affected by the wind and waves, and after the ship is docked, the crane is very busy, so it is different from other types of portal crane, and has the following characteristics:

(1) the narrow dock wall of the floating dock determines that the crane running track gauge is very small, only 3 ~ 5 m, so the lifting moment is relatively large, and the maximum can reach 450t·m, so the stability and safety requirements are high.

(2) the lifting height is very large, and the hook must be lowered to the working face of the dock bottom at least, with a total lift of about 40 m;.

(3) when the dock is repaired or not in working state, the floating dock will have a certain heel and trim, which should be considered seriously in the design and calculation.

(4) in order to prevent the tail of the crane turntable from colliding with the superstructure of the ship for docking repair, the tail radius of the crane turntable should be smaller and the layout of the machine room should be compact.
