Pet Coke or Petroleum coke or Calcined pet coke is derived from oil refining and is one type of group of fuels referred to as cokes. It consists of carbon with variable amounts of sulfurs and heavy metals. It has many industrial uses, including the production of batteries, steel and aluminium. Lower grade petcoke which contains higher concentration of sulfur is used as fuel in coal-fired power plants and cement kilns.
