Navel Oranges
Appearance:
Large fruit
Deep orange colour
Seedless
Navel oranges have the distinctive feature of having a small secondary fruit embedded in the apex of the primary fruit.
The flesh of a navel orange is sweet and naturally very juicy
Can be eaten out of hand, juiced, used in fruit salads

Production:
Depending on the cultivar and region, between early/mid-April and end July/early August

Valencia Oranges:
Appearance:
Fruit size is medium to large.
It is roundish-oblong in shape.
Well-coloured, moderately thin rind of smooth, sometimes finely pebbled texture.
High acid content combines with a high sugar content to produce a delicious taste.
Ideal for juicing

Production:
Depending on the cultivar and region, between mid-May until mid-October

Midnight Oranges:
Appearance:
Larger fruit size
Virtually seedless
Thin skinned fruit
High juice percentage
The intense flavour makes it excellent for eating or juicing

Mid-June to end September

Delta Oranges:

Seedless
Popular because it is less acid
Smooth rind
Great tasting

Mid-June to mid-October

Cara Cara Oranges:
Appearance:
Distinguished by their rosy flesh
Has a faint hint of strawberries, and flesh which is reddish pink, rather than more classically orange
Seedless
Thick skinned
Naturally sweet flavour
The oranges can also be juiced, eaten or cooked into jams, jellies, and other spreads.
