COFFEE AT BEST PRICE 

 

Vietnam is now the second largest coffee bean exporters in the world with the annual volume of up to 1,650,000,000 kilograms in 2014 alone. The potential and capacity of exporting coffee in Vietnam is very huge and being positively exploited.

There are two types of coffee that is available: Robusta and Arabica.

Robusta coffee bean has 2.7% caffein content and almost double the 1.5% of Arabica. Unlike Arabica, which require cool subtropical climate, lots of moisture, rich soil and sun, Rubusta is easier to tend to on the farm and produce higher yeild and less sensitive to insects.

In addition, Robusta is often considered not as delicious and aromatic as Arabica.

2. Manufacturing process

The coffe trees are grown in 2-3 years to produce fruits for Robusta and 4-5 years for Arabica.

The coffee cherries are ripe in many periods so the crop is mostly picked by hand in a labor-intensive and difficult process

Next, the coffee will be washed in water after the impurities such as leaves, branches… are removed.

The processing must beginas quickly as possible to prevent fruit spoilage.

The freshly harvested cherries are passed through a pulping machine to remove the skin from the bean.

 

For different export requirements, coffee will be polished or roasted.

If the customers want the roated coffee, the beans will be put through one more proces: roasting

This process will be implemented by hand for the little amount and by machine in the industrial manufacture.

The color of bean will turn from the light to darker brown. The aroma of the coffee bean also enhanced after this process.

3. Packing:

Coffee beans are usually packaged in new bags of woven natural materials (e.g. jute or sisal), which allow free air circulation. Their net weight is generally 60 kg.
