Overview of TYCO Boards
TYCO backer board is made of XPS foam board (CFC & HCFC free, blue closed cell core) in core and coated with fiberglass mesh and polymer cement mortar on both sides. It makes the backer board ideal base for setting tiles using the thinbed process. The XPS foam board in core is 100% waterproof and offers expectional resistance to water vapor. As proof, these panels meet the stringent standards of ASTM/ANSI testing for waterproofing and are suitable as part of a waterproof installation when seams and fastener heads are properly treated.

Note:
1. For solid walls the minimum board thickness for mechanical fixing is 10mm
2. For stud walls, the studs at 600mm centers for 20mm or thicker boards, while for 12mm or 10mm thick boards require to be fixed at 300mm centers.
3. Use long boards or extra wide panels to reduce the requirement for noggins and taping
