 Jaw crusher is generally used as a primary crusher in a crushing circuit. Product is fed into the top of the jaw crusher by an vibrating grizzly feeder. The eccentric rotating drive shaft causes the movable jaw to oscillate crushing the aggregate against a fixed jaw. Jaw crushers are run on belt drives driven by an electric motor or diesel engine. Jaw crushers are used extensively throughout the aggregate and mineral processing industry.

Working principle of diesel engine jaw crusher

 Motor drives V-belt and belt pulley to make moving jaw do periodic motion by eccentric shaft.  Moving jaw moves upwards to the fixed jaw when angle between toggle plate and moving jaw increases, so materials are crushed in this process. 

Moving jaw moves downwards from fixed jaw by pulling rod and spring when angle between toggle plate and moving jaw decreases, so the final crushed materials are discharged from the outlet.  The moving jaw moves periodically according to the eccentric shaft movement, and the materials entering the crushing chamber are crushed and discharged continually.
