Silicon has excellent heat, ozone, weathering resistance. Good temperature range. It offers reasonable resistance to weak acids and alkalis and mineral oils. It has very good electrical properties.

Commonly used in applications over 260Centigrade(500Fahrenheit). Industrial applications include food processing, packaging, refrigeration, furnaces, lighting, gaskets for crank shaft housings, sumps, gear boxes, water pumps, gas appliances, flues, pipes. Heaters, and electrical and electronic devices.
