 What Are Gutter Protector Leaf Guards

Gutter Protector leaf guards are a specialized mesh foam system that has had its cell structure modified converting it into a foam mesh, allowing enormous amount of water to pour through, eliminating any chance of clogging, or water rolling back towards the back of the gutter and dripping down your wall. It also contains a built in UV stabilizer to prevent damage.

Most Metal and plastic leaf guards are about 3mm thick and perforated allowing pine needles in, as well as seeds into your gutters. These have the potential to germinate and grow into small trees and weeds in your gutters. To remove remove your gutter garden is a process – timely and costly. You will need to unscrew the gutter mesh from the roof and gutter, the silicone seal and thoroughly clean your gutters. To replace, you will need to screw it all back on and reseal with silicone, until the next lot of seeds grow.

 Getting Started

Before installing Gutter Stuff, clean out the existing leaves and debris stuck in your gutters. The gutters should be washed out, if possible. Downspouts should be cleared of any obstruction, with special attention to all corners or elbows. Gutters should be checked to ensure that they are properly sloped towards the downspouts. All spikes and hangers should be securely tightened. Hangers should be added where needed.

Beginning Installation

Insert Gutter Stuff into the gutter so that its narrowest point, or the sharpest angle, is tucked under the front lip of the gutter. Gutter Stuff should run to the back of the gutter, completely filling the space across the top of the gutter. Then turn it at a 90 degree angle to sit snugly on the bottom of the gutter. Slide Gutter Stuff into the gutter under each spike or hanger then tuck the front edge of the material under the lip of the gutter.

Finishing Up

Place the foam sections into the gutter end to end, making sure there are no gaps between sections. A knife or scissors may be used to cut any excess material, if needed, at the end of each run. At corners or angles, use a miter cut to create a channel for the water to flow freely. Do not stretch the material to make it fit as it will shrink back to its original form and leave gaps.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is important for the wear of Gutter Stuff and greatly reduces the need for messy gutter cleaning. We recommend air cleaning your roof and gutters at least once a year to increase the efficiency and flow of Gutter Stuff. A garden hose can also be used to flush out any stranded debris from the foam filter. Gutter Stuff makes a messy job simple.

Side A must be in between 65mm & 97mm.
Side B must be in between 110mm & 145mm.
