2.  LPCB Standards on fire resistant cable:

BS 6387,  BS 7629-1,  EN 50200 ,  BS 5839-1 Clause 26.2d,

 

1) BS 6387 Performance requirements for cables required to maintain circuit integrity under fire conditions

 C – Resistance to fire at 950ºC for 3 hours
 W - Resistance to fire and water at 650ºC for 30 minutes and
 Z - Resistance to fire and mechanical shock at 950°C for 15 minutes

2)  BS 7629-1 Method of test for resistance to fire of unprotected small cables for use in 
emergency circuits.

3) EN 50200 British Standard Specification for 300/500V fire resistant cables having low
emissions of smoke and corrosive gases when affected by fire.

4) BS 5839-1 states ‘standard fire resisting cables’ should meet the PH30 classification when tested in accordance with EN 50200 and additionally the 30 minute survival time when tested in accordance with Annex E of that standard.

 

Note:  LLT FR - Multi core cables meet all the standards in LPCB requirements.
