White relfector:
The white reflector light is very subtle. Because of its reflective properties are not very strong so the effect appears soft and natural. When you want to add a little bit of light on shadow, white reflector is necessory for photographers. It often used on windows phototaken, especially on shadow parts of the 5 in 1 collapsible reflectors.
Silver reflector:
As the silver reflector is much brighter and smooth as a mirror, it can produce more bright light. Silver reflector is the most commonly used in photographing. The effect of such reflectors easily be photographed in eyes , thereby creating a large and bright eyes light. when take photo in cloudy light and light comes from being phtopographed over head, just put the reflector outside the camera field of view, then the top light will be reflected to photographed face. In overcast light conditions, white reflectors do not have such a strong role.
Gold reflector:

But different from cold tone silver reflectors, the light will be warmer color. Gold reflector is more commonly used as the main light. when take photo in the bright sunlight shooting backlit portraits, the light from the side and slightly higher will be reflected to the subject's face. With this reflective plate, it has two effects: First, get the subject who is exposed to direct light, and also to those whose face being taken to increase the exposure of a block; the second is to reduce the background to the foreground from the exposure difference, so as not to make the background seriously overexposed.
Black reflector:
This reflector is different, because technically it is not reflective plate, but "by the light board" or "absorption plate." The use of other reflectors is based on increasing light method, aims to add the amount of light for the scene. However, black reflectors are used by optical method to reduce the amount of light. Why use a black reflector plate it? For various reasons, people have always hated to use the top-light shooting. With this light, shoot the face often get a "raccoon eyes."
