Originally made from silk, Georgette is made with highly twisted yarns. Its characteristic crinkly surface is created by alternating S- and Z-twist yarns in both warp and weft.
Georgette is made in solid colors and prints and is used for blouses, dresses, evening gowns, saris, and trimmings. It is springier and less lustrous than the closely related chiffon.
Georgettes are known for being a thin silk and/or crepe dress material characterized by its crispness, body and outstanding durability. Silk georgette fabrics are for the most part always sheer and contain a dull face. Line this rich silky fabric and sew it into fabulous dresses, blouses and scarves.
Note: Lining this material may be of necessity for most applications.

Uses
Silk's absorbency makes it comfortable to wear in warm weather and while active. Its low conductivity keeps warm air close to the skin during cold weather. It is often used for clothing such as shirts, ties, blouses, formal dresses, high fashion clothes, lining, lingerie, pajamas, robes, dresssuits, sun dresses and Eastern folk costumes. For practical use, silk is excellent as clothing that protects from many biting insects that would ordinarily pierce clothing, such as mosquitoes and horseflies. Silk's attractive lustre and drape makes it suitable for many furnishing applications. It isused for upholstery, wall coverings, window treatments (if blended with another fiber), rugs, bedding and wall hangings.While on the decline now, due to artificial fibers, silk has had many industrial and commercial uses, such as in parachutes, bicycle tires,comforter filling and artillery gunpowder bags.
Fabrics that are often made from silk include charmeuse, habutai, chiffon, taffeta, crepe de chine, dupioni,noil, tussah, and shantung, among others.

Different fabrics have different MOQ , and usually our MOQ is 300m per color. We accept small quantity orders as 10m 50m 100m etc , price depends on quantity of your order.
