  Plus Series

By adopting rennovated new tap blank and new design, Plus Series realize the longer tool life.

We have 2 line-ups in Plus Series depending on the hole shape, +SP for blind hole and +PO for through hole.

Features of "+SP", blind hole use

1. With the thread portion designed most suitablely for middle tapping speed area on machining centers, +SP is the tap for blind hole use.


2. The use under full rigid lead feed realizes higher efficiency.


3. Size range is the coarse threads from M2 to M6.

Features of "+PO", through hole use

1. For middle tapping speed area on machining centers.

  Standard Tap Series

In Standard Tap Series, there are 3 kinds of taps, HT(Hand Taps),SP(Spiral Fluted Taps) and PO(Spiral Pointed Taps). To answer wide range of demand, YAMAWA prepares taps not only for Metric threads, but for Unified and Whitworth threads.

Features of "HT"

1. HT's straight flutes can accommodate chips.


2. HT has 3 chamfer types depending on the length of chamfer, taper, plug and bottoming.

Features of "SP"

1. Spiral flutes pull out chips backward against tapping direction. SP is most suitable for blind hole tapping.


2. With excellent cutting performance, SP is suitable for sticky materials.

Features of "PO"

1. Spiral pointed flutes push chips forward in the direction of tapping. PO is most suitable for through hole tapping.


2. PO has less tapping torque due to less chip trouble.

  I Series for general purpose

  I Series are special for manual operation and drilling machine use

  ISP I Series, Spiral Fluted Taps for general purpose

  ISP is suitalbe for low speed tapping of steels, to be used for hand use and drilling machine use. ISP is oxided to be suitalbe for SPC and soft steels.

  IPO I Series, Spiral Pointed Taps for general purpose

    IPO is suitable for tapping general fasteners made from thin steel sheets such as SPC and SPH, and such soft steels lower than SS400 and S20C. IPO is oxided to be suitable for these materials.

IHT I Series, IHT Hand Taps for general purpose

IHI is suitable for tapping general fasteners made from thin steel sheets such as SPC and SPH, and such soft steels lower than SS400 and S20C.

Roll Tap Series

Roll Taps, having no cutting edges, form threads without producing chips. They are also called Thread Forming Taps.

Also called forming taps. With no cutting edges, Roll Taps form threads without producing chips.

Features

• Roll Tap is the tap that forms threads by deforming materials, producing no chips. Roll taps are most suitalbe for blind hole tapping in softer materals.


• Roll taps have no flutes for chip ejection, but can have oil grooves for good lubricant supply.


• Threads formed by roll taps are very strong and have less deviation on their pitch diameters.

Pipe Tap Series

  Pipe Taps cut pipe threads in pipes and conduits.

In connecting pipes and pipe parts, these pipe taps are used mainly for pipe threads of mechanical joints.

Features

• There are 2 types of pipe taps, one for parallel threads and the other for taper threads. The pipe taps for parallel threads are used for cutting the parallel threads to be used maily for mechanical joints. The pipe taps for taper threads are used for cutting taper threads to be used for pressure tight joints, such as water pipes and gas pipes. Taper threads are the threads which diameter reduces on the cone shape.

  Carbide Tap Series

  Carbide Taps are made from ultra micro grain carbide which features high wear resistance and toughness.

Carbide taps are difficult to break on continuous tapping.
