Simethicone

Simethicone IP/BP/USP is also known as Activated Dimethicone. The chemical is used in the preparation of antacid where it acts as the anti-flatulent agent. The clinical use of this chemical is based upon its anti- foam property that is beneficial in fermentation process to control the foam.

Uses

Simethicone is an oral anti-foaming agent used to reduce bloating, discomfort and pain caused by excess gas in the stomach or intestinal tract. Simethicone is a mixture of polydimethylsiloxane and hydrated silica gel.
