Marchese di Borgosole Salice Salentino DOC Reserve
In the 19th century, with the surrender of King Francis II to Garibaldi and the fall of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, the province of Lecce was annexed to Piedmont.
A group of noble teenagers escaped from the raging battles by taking refuge in the Serre Leccesi, helped and covered by the father of one of them. Hidden by the enchanting hills, immersed in an almost fairy-tale landscape, it was these young people who founded the small BorgoSole, named after the positive energy transmitted.
Marchese di Borgosole is a tribute to the places of origin of the grapes and to the man who favoured the birth of a marvellous glimpse of southern Italy.
Unfortunately, we do not know his name, but only the noble title that distinguished him.

Wine-making process | The grapes are harvested, destemmed and softly pressed and undergo a pre-fermentative maceration at 12-14°C to extract the characteristic aromas; fermentation and maceration last 15/20 days at a controlled temperature of 25/27°C, at the end of which alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is completed. After a further soft pressing, the wine is left to age for 4-6 months in steel tanks. |
