Products Description

Kunisaki Oyster is a high added value regional brand produced with an original single-seed type "tide and deep" oyster production method using Yanmar's unique on-land bivalve seed production solution.

At Yanmar, we have been developing our bivalve seed production techniques since we started our business selling oyster feed in 2003. Regarding oyster cultivation techniques, we have been testing and verifying single-seed type seeds since 2011 and have accumulated our own unique know-how.

Kunisaki Oyster consists mainly of fishery cooperatives in Oita, Kyushu, including the Kunisaki, Kunimi, Musashi, and Kichi districts. The oysters are cultivated under the guidance of the city of Kunisaki, Oita. Small in size, they contain minerals that give them a strong flavor and are meant to be eaten raw and shelled. They have been selected by many famous chefs and high-end restaurants in Japan, including Michelin starred restaurants.
The oysters are cultivated in a clean area of ocean that is regularly monitored. Once harvested, they are rinsed in carefully filtered seawater, and each harvest lot undergoes a sanitation inspection by a third-party inspector. After they are confirmed safe, the oysters are shipped. In 2021, Kunisaki Oyster received a sanitation certificate from Oita Prefecture and our oysters were imported to Singapore, which has the strictest sanitation standards in Asia.
