The roots of Bixio family are dated back to 2 centuries ago. Nino Bixio was an Italian General, Patriot and politician, one of the most prominent figures in the Italian unification. General Garibaldi wanted Bixio by his side in the famous Spedizione dei Mille (Expedition of the Thousand soldiers) to unify Italy under a unique Flag. In 1866 he guided 7 Brigade in the battle in Custoza in Verona province and during the war months Nino loved a Veronese woman and from that love start the Veronese branch of Bixio Surname. The son was named Alfonso but was Grandfather Ottavio who founded the winery in 1969, 100 years later that the first Bixio step on the Veneto soil. Ten years after Emilio Bixio the eldest son, became winemaker. The same year he began his first harvest, he made in this way his first company, Fratelli Bixio farm. After more than 50 years of activities in the Wine Business, thanks to the experience we can offer the most prestigious wine of our Lands from Soave to Valpolicella trough the ARCOLE DOC Appellation in offering majestic wines full of taste. In the latest years we also invest in a little central south Italian Region called MOLISE an amusing place close to the seaside where we produce fragrant and crispy wines.
