In 1866 he guided 7 Brigade in the battle in Custoza in Verona province and during the war months Nino loved a Veronese woman and from that love start the Veronese branch of Bixio Surname. The son was named Alfonso but was Grandfather Ottavio who founded the winery in 1969, 100 years later that the first Bixio step on the Veneto soil. Ten years after Emilio Bixio the eldest son, became winemaker. The same year he began his first harvest, he made in this way his first company, Fratelli Bixio farm.
