Product Description

Olio Calvi Extra Virgin Olive Oil Arzentu 500 ml - High Italian quality
The Extra Virgin Olive Oil "Arzentu" is obtained from a blend of the local Taggiasca olive and the Italian Peranzana cultivar, combining the fruity and sweet taste of the first with the perfume and the slightly pikant taste of the second.
"Arzentu" is presented in an elegantly gray wrapped bottle.
Harvesting is done by hand from November to December, at maximum ripening of olives. These are then immediately cold pressed.
The name "Arzentu" comes from the word that we use in Liguria, in our local dialect, to indicate the Silver.

Extra virgin olive oil must be stored away from direct sources of light since light greatly accelerates the natural phenomenon of oxidation. Nontheless, this oil is totally protected from light thanks to the wrapping alluminium foil. Prolonged exposure to heat also has a negative effect on the oil, even if less damaging than light. We advise you, therefore, to keep this product away from heat sources. If you have stocked up on this product and want to keep it in the best possible condition, store the bottles closed at a temperature close to 15 °C, if possible (in the cellar or garage, for example).

Company Profile

Giuseppe Calvi & C.
is an historic company of Imperia (Western Ligurian Riviera) founded in 1921, 101 years ago. We have a modern and technological
oil mill in the village of Pontedassio: it is the heart of our company and here we produce our Taggiasca oils, the core of our
company. The most reputated of all them is our "Mosto Oro". We also bottle great oils of other Italian Cultivars.

In particular we have: "Mosto Argento" which is a blend of Taggiasca and other high quality Italian cultivars; "Mosto Classico" with which we won a Gold Medal at the International Olive Oil Competition 2022 in Amsterdam; "Frutto Verde" which won Gourmet Or at the Concours Les Huiles du Monde 2022 in Paris. We also have a large range of Ligurian Specilities: Taggiasca Olives, Pesto of Basilico Genovese DOP, Vegetables in oil and Tuna in oil, organic flavoured oils.. We sell in Italy as well as in many other countries.

The word quality today is often hand out. In our company quality means:
- all our oils are Italian and are cold pressed (the only exception being the oil contained in our 5 litre can, which is mainly destined for use in restaurant kitchens)
- all our oils have low acidity (with reference to the harvest of winter 2012-2013, the average acidity of oils of Taggiasca olives was 0.24% and average acidity of the other Italian oils was 0.25%)
- our oils are stored in steel silos or in traditional underground tanks which in recent years have been lined with steel. Oils are periodically transferred to clean tanks.
- our oils undergo scrupulous analytical controls carried out by approved certified laboratories.
- a scrupulous organoleptic (sensorial) control of all our oils is entrusted to Gianni and Luca
- we apply a detailed HACCP self control
