Translucent white orthorhombic crystals or small pieces. The apparent density is 1.80 ~ 1.85g/cm3. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol. It has strong reducibility under high temperature and can make the dyed color disappear, so it is called hanging white block. It decomposes in case of chemicalbook acid and produces toxic gases such as formaldehyde and hydrogen sulfide at 120 ℃. Anhydrous hanging white block is very stable, but it will gradually decompose in humid air. The aqueous solution begins
to decompose above 60 ℃, and the dilute solution decomposes much faster than the concentrated solution.

Printing and dyeing industry is used as discharge agent and reducing agent to produce indigo dyes, vat dyes, etc. It is also used in synthetic rubber, sugar making and polymerization of ethylene compounds. Uses: used as dye remover for printing and dyeing, activator of styrene butadiene rubber and synthetic resin, decolorization and bleaching agent of organic matter. The main chemicalbook is used as discharge agent, color remover and reducing agent for printing and dyeing industry, activator of styrene butadiene rubber and synthetic resin, and decolorization and bleaching of some organic matters (such as synthetic rubber, sugar and food industry). It can be used instead of insurance powder under certain conditions.
