Function & Application | Also known as cupro nickel, these copper nickel sheets resist rusting better than stainless steel. They also resist damage from algae and barnacle buildup, so you can even use them to build boat hulls—no protective paint needed. When carrying heavy loads, they won’t crack from chlorides, though they’re more likely to develop small holes from sulfides compared to stainless steel. They’re also sometimes used to house copper tubes to stop them from corroding nearby metal. |
