Common name: matrine (matrine).

Extraction source: matrine is extracted from dried roots, plants and fruits of Sophora flavescens Sophora flavescens Ait by ethanol and other organic solvents. It is an alkaloid, usually a total alkaloid of Sophora flavescens. Its main components are matrine, sophorine, sophoridine and other alkaloids, with the highest content of matrine and oxymatrine. Other sources are soya bean root Sophora subprostrata (shandougen) and aboveground part of Sophora alopecuroides.
Appearance: the pure product of matrine is white powder, the low content is brown mother liquor, and the mother liquor is generally used in agriculture.
Commonly used preparations: 0.3% matrine water, 1% matrine alcohol solution, 0.2% matrine water, 1.1% matrine powder, 1% matrine soluble solution.
