Night Orient Margarita Strawberry alcohol-free ready-to-drink cocktail is inspired by a Mexican mix of tequila, triple sec and
lime juice. It has a taste of lime, strawberry and a mix of other fruits. Night Orient Margarita Strawberry is the perfect
alcohol-free alternative with a hint of strawberry. It is rumored that the origin of the Margarita Cocktail comes out of Tijuana, Mexico where restaurant owner Carlos Herrera in 1939 created a specialty cocktail for a beautiful showgirl with a long list of food allergies. Combining triple sec and salt with tequila, lemon juice, and shaved ice to impress the young, fashionable Marjorie King. Tequila was the only liquor Miss King could tolerate, so Mr. Herrera fashioned the drink after a traditional shot. He called the drink Margarita, the Spanish equivalent of his muse's name.
Someone else claims to have invented the margarita: a wealthy Texan socialite named Margarita Sames. In 1948, Sames served the refreshing drink to guests (including hotelier Tommy Hilton) while staying in her Acapulco vacation home. Her party punch became the stuff of legend after Hilton added it to his hotel chain's bar menu.
Margarita is also the Spanish word for daisy, and there was an extremely popular drink of the early 20th century with the same flowery name. Modern margaritas seem to be the direct descendant of the pre-Prohibition brandy drinks made with Grand Marnier and sugar. A recipe for a picador — which features tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice, was published in the Cafe Royal Cookbook in 1937. Serve the glass dipped in sea salt!
