What is Mica powder?
Iron Oxide pigment is a kind of pigment with good dispersibility, light resistance and weather resistance. Iron Oxide pigments mainly refer to iron oxide red, iron yellow, iron black and iron brown pigments which are based on iron oxide, among which iron oxide red is the main pigment (about 50% of iron oxide pigments) , micaceous iron oxides used as antirust pigments and magnetic iron oxides used as magnetic recording materials also fall into the category of iron oxide pigments. Iron Oxide is the second largest inorganic pigment after titanium white, and also the first largest color inorganic pigment. In the total consumption of iron oxide pigments, more than 70% are prepared by chemical synthesis method, called synthetic iron oxide. Due to its high synthetic purity, uniform particle size, wide spectrum, multi-color, low-cost, non-toxic, excellent coloring and application properties, with ultraviolet absorption and other properties, the synthetic iron oxide has been widely used, therefore widely used in building materials, coatings, plastics, electronics, tobacco, , rubber, ceramics, ink, magnetic materials, paper and other fields.
Function of Mica powder
Pearl Pigment/Mica Powder is formed by mica powder coated by a layer of titanium dioxide. Mica Powder Colorants features various particles (usually 10-60um) that can be mixed with clear, translucent or opaque medium. These pigments sparkle and shine, especially in watercolors, acrylics and oil paints. Since the particles are very small, colors can be mixed to create uniform colour, lightly to ensure subtle metallic effects.
