Molecular weight: 115.02

Properties: White crystal. The relative density is 1.803 and melting point is 190 centigrade. It is easily soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in acetone. It is stability in the air, and decompounds only a little at 100 centigrade. It loses ammonia and water, and becomes ammonium metaphosphate and phosphoric acid exceeding 190 centigrade.

Application

MAP is most suitable as a fertilizer in crop growth during fertilization, ammonium phosphate in the soil is acidic, and seed too close to produce adverse effects, in acidic soil in it is better than the single superphosphate and ammonium sulfate, in alkaline soil also superior than the other fertilizer; not with alkaline fertilizer mix, so as not to reduce fertilizer.
