Why Battery Packs Need BMS
Lithium batteries are known to have no protection of their own.The main function of lithium battery protection board(BMS) is to protect the battery from overdischarge, overcharge, overcurrent and short circuit protection, etc.


How to Select BMS
What is the discharge you choose depends on the power of your motor and the controller.
Current limiting, instantaneous current. The current of the BMS must be greater than that of the controller current limiting
value.If need any help please contact with our sales.


What is the balance function of the BMS?
When one piece of your battery voltage reaches (Ternary lithium-ion 4.18V, LiFePO4 lithium-ion 3.6V)the balance will be turned and the equalization resistance of BMS will start at 35MA current for discharging (When equalization starts discharging, the back of the protective plate will heat up. This is positive Frequent reaction.) This battery will be charged while it is discharging, and the rest is not yet achieved(Ternary lithium-ion 4.18V, LiFePO4 lithium-ion 3.6V) is charging only, until the highest one reaches(Ternary lithium-ion 4.25V, LiFePO4 lithium-ion 3.75V), it will be disconnected and all other batteries will stop charging. Themain function is to let each batteries are equally charged.If the voltage gap is large, then equalization function has littleeffect.


How to Choose Charger
Lithium batteries must be charged with lithium
battery type chargers, and lead-acid battery chargers should not be used. If the lead-acid battery charger is used, it may damage protection plate(BMS) and cause the overcharge and unprotected of the battery pack.
Calculating method of charging voltage of lithium battery: Series X overcharging voltage = charging voltage. (Ternary lithium:Series number X4.2V;LiFePO4 lithium: Series number X3.6V)
For example,if Ternary lithium battery pack is 10S,the charger voltage should be 10X4.2=42V
