Ceramic blade (Zirconia ZRO2) is made of ceramic powder by high pressure sintering, so it is called ceramic knife. ZRO2 nanometer (100nm) powder is used for the ceramic blade, which is pressed and molded by 500T press at 1750°C and then ground and cut to the finished ceramic blade with diamond grinding wheel. Ceramic blade is a new type of blade. Two methods, water-based tape casting method and Sol-gel method, are usually used. In the application of ultra-thin blade, general water stream casting method is used. The sharpness and service life of the blade is 50-100 times that of the high-speed steel blade, and 3-13 times that of the tungsten carbide blade. Ceramic blade has high hardness, high density, high temperature resistance, anti - magnetization, anti - oxidation, no static loading and so on.
In the process of modern cutting, cutting, in order to improve the processing efficiency is still the use of high speed steel or cemented carbide tool cutting, cutting. Traditional tool because of its limitations have been unable to fit for the development of modern science and technology of cutting, cutting high demand, high strength (without burr, without become warped edge, off powder, plane uniformity, antistatic), and ceramic cutting tool, with its excellent heat resistance, abrasion resistance and chemical stability, no static load, in the field of high speed cutting and cutting difficult-to-machine material shows incomparable advantage over traditional cutting tools.
