1.Why should you aerate your lawn?

After a harsh and cold winter,your gross and lawn will be desperate for a good rejuvenation.The colder temperatures inhibit growth whilst the potential frosts stop the valuable nutrients from reaching the roots of your grass.

2.The benefit of aerating a lawn

As you can see from the image below areation allows larger quantities of oxygen-rich air to reach the roots of your grass and release the carbon dioxide laden air that's trapped within the soil.Aeration also has the benefits of promoting growth by encouraging your roots to grow deep and uptake more nutrients.Aeration will also provide a reduction in the build-up of thatch below the surface whilst also increasing drainage and accessibly for water to reach the grass's rootd.

4.General tips

A.Before you start the machine you must first check the fuel level.

B.Before you begin aerating your lawn push a pitch fork(garden fork)into the ground to make sure the soil is at least 10cm (5 inches) deep.

C.Before aerating your lawn you must make sure your lawn has been trimmed correctly and the grass is short.

D.You should remove foreign debris such as rocks,sticks,shrubbery rtc.from your lawn before you begin aerating.

E.DON'T operate the aerator on wet lawn or in wet weather.

F.DON'T use the aerator on slopes with an angle greater than 30 degrees.

G.Make sure your grass layers are not situated on a hard-core rubble base this will damage the machine.
