Working Principle

 

PDLC (polymer dispersed liquid crystal film) Smart glass which is a kind of high-tech product can switch from transparent to opaque instantaneously under electricity application. It is transparent when power on and it is opaque when power off. It can be regulated and adjusted the light transmittance pass through the film by electricity supply.

Smart glass is composed of tempered glass, PET film, ITO film, polymer and liquid crystal molecules. When the glass is under off state, the randomly aligned liquid crystal molecules stay along on the walls of capsule, the reflection of liquid crystal molecules and polymer makes light disperses then it is opaque. While electricity supplied, these molecules arrange themselves in a specific direction then parallel light can pass through the film makes it transparent.

02. Do you offer free samples of smart glass?

Yes, we can offer free A4 smart film sample film or small A5 smart glass for test.

03. What about warranty?

We offer 12 months for self-adhesive smart film, and 24 months for laminated smart film.

04. What is the life-span of the film?

Over 8 million times switch on and off. If no man-made damage, chemical affect edges or wrong wiring connection, over 10 years no problem.

05. What is the difference between laminated PDLC Film and self adhesive PDLC Film?

They have same function from OFF-ON with electricity applied. Laminated PDLC Film without glue is used for laminating in two pieces glass with EVA laminated machine or autoclave. The finish product we call smart glass. Self adhesive PDLC Film with one side surface glue can stick onto exit glass surface directly.

06. Can we cut the film by ourselves?

Yes, we can offer film in roll with all needed manual and accessories for making wires connection terminals.

07. How to make bus bar and how to do installation?

We can offer all needed materials for making bus bar, give training and installation manual. Also welcome to our factory to learn.

08. Do you produce irregular shape film with holes and design?

Yes, we have laser cutting machine to do it.
