Gray Iron Lost Foam Casting Coating is the base coating of gravity metal casting and is suitable for all metal molds. Gray Iron Lost Foam Casting Coating is suitable for thin section castings and large flat castings, but also for the feed port, wheels, pistons, connecting rod, cylinder and so on.
Under normal circumstances, the coating methods for lost foam casting coatings include brush coating, dip coating, leaching, spraying, or leaching. Among them, dip coating has high production efficiency, saves coating, and has uniform coating properties and low coating requirements. It is easy to operate and does not require special equipment. It is popular in practical applications.

Application
1. LFC coating prevents mechanical casting and thermochemical adhesion of castings.
The essence of mechanical sand is the infiltration of metal liquid into the pores between sand grains. In ordinary sand casting, the infiltration pressure of the molten metal at a certain point in the mold is the pressure of the molten metal. When infiltrating into the overpressure of the gas pressed in the voids between the sand grains and the additional pressure caused by the surface tension of the molten metal, the molten metal can penetrate into the voids of the sand grains to form mechanical clay.
2. LFC coating improves the stiffness of the foam model and prevents deformation during embedding.
This is the unique role of the refractory coating in lost foam casting. Foam plastic molds in the buried operation, inevitably subject to a certain amount of impact force, so the model may produce compression deformation and bending deformation, and then affect the final size of the casting accuracy.

The surface of the model is coated with a layer of EPC refractory coating, which will form a layer of hard shell with a certain strength that is tightly coated on the surface. For example, a 2mm thick coating can reduce the compression deformation of the foam model by 2/3 and reduce the bending deformation by more than 9/10 under the same stress conditions.
3. LFC For EPC Casting Process can help the rapid discharge of Epoxy-like thermal decomposition gases.
If the gas generated by thermal decomposition of the foam model cannot be discharged in time, defects such as incomplete casting, porosity, slag inclusion, and carbon black may occur. A surface refractory coating with a certain gas permeability allows the gas to be discharged in a timely manner under the influence of negative pressure.
3. LFC For EPC Casting Process can help the rapid discharge of Epoxy-like thermal decomposition gases.
