Beta2 Microglobulin Kit
β2-microglobulin (β2-MG) Kit (Immunofluorescence) is mainly for the in vitro quantitative determination of β2-microglobulin (β2-MG) in human serum and urine. β2-microglobulin exists in all nucleated cells as a component of leukocyte antigen. A small amount of β2-microglobulin is released into blood, which is fully filtrated in the kidney, then reabsorbed and degraded in renal tubules
and its concentration is low and steady in serum of healthy people. Due to the increased activity of the immune system (such as
infection, rheumatic diseases, cell death or excretion function decrease caused by kidney damage), the release of β2-microglobulin
increases, then its serum concentration increases. Therefore, the concentration of β2-microglobulin in serum is a sensitive index
of renal glomerular filtration ability. Renal tubular injury can lead to an increase of concentration of β2-microglobulin in
urine. Therefore, determination of concentration of β2-microglobulin in urine is a good method to diagnose and evaluate
qualitative kidney damage between the tubules.
