The compressor is regarded as the heart of the refrigeration system, and the special term that best embodies the characteristics of the booster is called "steam pump". The compressor is actually responsible for lifting the suction pressure to the exhaust pressure.

 

Compression ratio is a technical representation of the pressure difference, which is defined as the absolute pressure on the high side divided by the absolute pressure on the low side. The compression ratio must be calculated using absolute pressure values. In order to avoid negative values of the compression ratio, the absolute pressure, rather than the nominal pressure, must be used to calculate the pressure ratio. Only by using absolute pressure value can the calculated value of compression ratio be positive, which makes sense.

 

There are 5 types of booster used in the refrigeration industry: reciprocating, screw, rotary, scroll and centrifugal. Reciprocating is the most widely used booster in small and medium commercial refrigeration systems. Screw booster is mainly used in large medical and industrial systems. Rotary and scroll booster are mainly used in household and small capacity commercial air conditioning units, while centrifugal booster are widely used in large building air conditioning systems.

 

 

All kinds of reciprocating booster are generally classified according to the form of the booster housing and the setting mode of the driving mechanism. According to the form of the shell can be divided into open type and enclosed semi-enclosed booster. Enclosed means that the whole booster is arranged in a housing.

According to The Chinese standard, its safety performance test is carried out according to the item specified in GB4706.17-2004.The main items are electrical strength, leakage current, lock-in, and overload operation test, etc.

 

The performance test of air conditioner booster is carried out according to the provisions of GB5773-2004.

 

In addition, type test shall be carried out in case of major changes in product finalness and production that may affect product performance, in case of continuous production of more than one year or reproduction at intervals of more than one year, and in case of great difference between the results of ex-factory inspection and type test.
