1. Accept Mission

Usually, the mold design task book is proposed by the plastic parts craftsman according to the task book of the molded plastic parts. The mold design personnel design the mold based on the molded plastic parts task book and the mold design task book.
2.Collect,Analyze and Digest Data
Collect and organize related parts design, molding process, molding equipment, machining and special processing materials for use in designing molds.
1. Digest the plastic parts drawing, understand the use of the parts, analyze the technical requirements of the plastic parts, dimensional accuracy and other technical requirements.2. Determine the manufacturing process and analyze whether the requirements of the molding method, equipment model, material specification, and mold structure type proposed in the process task book are appropriate and can be implemented.
2. Determine the molding method, using compression molding, die casting or injection molding.
3. Select the molding equipment and make the mold according to the type of molding equipment. 3.Design and Draw Mold
It is required to draw according to the national cartographic standards, but it is also required to combine the factory standards and the factory customary drawing rules.
Before drawing the master assembly drawing, the process drawing should be drawn and conformed to the requirements of the parts drawing and process data. The size guaranteed by the next process shall be marked with the words "process size" on the drawing. If, after the molding, no other machining is performed except for the repair of the burrs, the process diagram is exactly the same as the part drawing.
It is best to mark the part number, name, material, material shrinkage rate, drawing ratio, etc. under the process diagram. Usually the process picture is on the mold assembly drawing.
Draw the final assembly drawing as much as possible with a 1:1 ratio, starting with the cavity and drawing the main view at the same time as the other views.
4.Draw the Mold Assembled
The assembly drawing is to clearly express the assembly relationship of the parts related to the mold. When drawing, we generally divide the assembly drawing into the main view, the side view, the top view of the moving mold, and the bottom view of the fixed mold to express the assembly relationship of the mold. The main view mainly expresses the structural relationship of the assembly, and the side view mainly expresses the structural relationship of other assemblies.
The top view of the movable mold mainly expresses the positional relationship of the assembly on the movable mold side, and the bottom view of the fixed mold mainly expresses the positional relationship of the assembly on the fixed mold side.
5.Draw Components
Correct, complete and clear expression of the structure and shape of the parts, reasonably marked to meet the required dimensions of parts processing, inspection, assembly, can be intuitive and convenient to inspect the mold drawings and mold processing for correct guidance.
6.Process Mold
According to the drawings and production process determined in the previous period, the processing is carried out in stages in strict accordance with the technical requirements. Roughing removes most of the margin of the blank and produces a fine reference; the semi-finishing stage reduces the error left by the roughing, prepares for the finishing of the main surface, and simultaneously completes the processing of the minor surfaces on the part; The finishing stage ensures that the main surfaces meet the specified requirements of the drawings to ensure the processing quality; the finishing stage reduces the surface roughness value and further improves the precision. Machining in the order of coarse and fine, can reasonably distribute the machining allowance and reasonable selection of cutting amount, give full play to the efficiency of the roughing machine, maintain the precision of the finishing machine for a long time, and reduce the deformation of the components during processing. To avoid damage to the finished surface; separate roughing and finishing, it is also convenient to find the blank defects in time, and it is beneficial to arrange the heat treatment process.
7.Trial and Amend Mold
After the preparation of each mechanical part of the mold, assemble and trim the mold, and check whether the assembly of each part meets the standard. In the process of the trial mold, the mold is modified in a targeted manner to meet the customer's requirements for the mold and the product.
