Spiral wound coil brushes are specifically made by winding straight metal-backed channel strips on a bar, core or shaft to form a rotary cylinder brush. What is great about these types of brushes is that by varying the pitch between each coil, a wider range of brush fill densities is possible for our customers to choose from. From very dense close-wound coil brushes to a less dense more open wound coil brush, the pitch options allow for a wide range of possibilities.
Our spiral wound coil brushes are made with Nylon type 6.0 and a galvanized steel channel core, and are typically used within the circuit board industry, specifically with I.S. pumice machines. The density and filament configuration of these brushes provides a more even distribution of pumice onto the board surface, which increases the longevity of the brush.
