Fabrication Guides
Circular saw
Aegis 3D™ can be cut with a directional rail circular saw and identical tooling similar ACP’s. For the CNC an up spiral cutter is recommended to assist with swarf removal. There is no coolant required on the cutter or groove. Manual folding can usually be achieved without the need for bending equipment.
Roll Bending
Aegis3D™ panel can be bent with a roll-bending machine. Safeguard the material by maintaining the protective film and make certain the rollers are clean and dent-free. Minimum radius of 500mm.

Grooving
For a CNC Router, the tooling is the same as that for a 90° V-Groove of a 3mm flat ACP. As depicted in the diagram below, when using a Festool or Wallsaw, the grooving blade should remove all the aluminium of the core and be touching the adhesive layer on the rear of the face skin, the minimum thickness left in the bottom of the groove should be 0.7mm. Tools must be kept sharp to avoid heat and pressure conduction to the panel to reduce the quality of the grooves
It is highly recommended that you consult with the machine and tool supplier to ensure the best manufacturing results. We recommend that you conduct preliminary tests and tests before you start producing panels.
