Company Profile

Tenuta la Pergola
In the Province of Asti, between the municipalities of Cisterna d’Asti, Canale d’Alba and San Damiano d’Asti on the Roero and
Monferrato slopes, the vineyards of the “La Pergola” estate are cultivated. It takes its name from a long, three-metre-high arbour
of grapes that extends on the slope and defines the road. Activities on the estate started in 1903, under the guidance of Antonio.
Today Alessandra, (his granddaughter), continues his work with the enthusiasm typical of a person in love with her land and
birthright.
The estate covers about 35 hectares, all dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards, with a production of around 300.000 bottles.
The favourable position and exposure of the vines ensure quality production reflected in the DOC and DOCG labels. Here the vines
play a lead role because they are cultivated according to the most modern methods, safe for the environment, operators and end
consumers.
The grapes are harvested in boxes and undergo sorting with subsequent soft pressing and must control through cold stabilisation
during the fermentation process. Long and skilful processing, carried out by expert wine-makers, is followed by sterile bottling
with microfiltration. In the winery, modern stainless steel tanks stand side by side with oak barrels and casks where the fine
wines are left to age.
