Overview
Shallot is a native tropical spice, originated
from Central or Southeast Asia. Shallot looks
similar to garlic despite being in the onion
family. Shallot is small with paper-thin skin,
the color can vary from copper to purple to
gray. When shallot is peeled, the bulb splits
into cloves similar to garlic. Shallot is favored
for its mild onion flavor, with a distinct pungent aroma
from Central or Southeast Asia. Shallot looks
