Frozen Kyoto Native Vegetable ( Kyo-Yasai )

Kyoto is the ancient capital of Japan and the home of the state-of-art Japanese cuisine. " Kyo-Yasai (京野菜) " means branded Kyoto native vegetables, the premium-quality native vegetables farmed and developed in Kyoto for over 1200 years through. This branded spring onion ""Kujo" Negi as one of Kyo-Yasai grows taller than other Japanese spring onions and has more dark-green parts and thicker body which has rich slimy inner skin that carries sweet flavor and nutrients. This innovative Agricultural Corporation, Koto Kyoto Co., Ltd., has applied special pretreatment and rapid freezing method to this "Kujo" Negi to produce Japan's best-selling frozen "Kujo" Negi, "Koto-Kujo-Negi" Series. There are three differently sliced types for different dishes. Round-sliced, Diagonally-sliced and Stick-cut types.
J.GAP certified and HACCP compliant QA/QC in strict practice. Freshly harvested vegetables are used with no addition of additives.




Round-sliced. Good for many Japanese and oriental dishes such as fried rice, ommelet, etc. Not necessary to defreeze for the futher cooking. If used as the topping for hot dishes, put one pinch on them without defreezing.





Diagonally-sliced. This is the diagonally-sliced version to make each cut-piece longer and prettier to be suitable for Soup, Udon, Donburi (Japanese Rice Bowl), Claypot dishes, etc. If used as the topping, put one pinch on them without defreezing.





Stick-cut type. This is the stick-cut version to be straightaway used as the ingredient of Nabe-mono (Japanese Hot Pot), Sukiyaki, etc. Great to be grilled, too.





Frozen "Manganji" Chili Pepper-Whole. Length is about 20cm, and thickness about 3 to 5 cm dia. This "Manganji(万願寺)" chilli pepper is one of the most popular "Kyo-Yasai" and has very large and thick body. It has less seeds and no capsaicin, thus much sweeter, and called " King of Chilli Peppers ". Good source of Vitamin C. The best is grilled. Also great to be pan-fried, Tenpura, etc. Its bright green color will surely stimulate the dinners' apetite.





"Fushimi(伏見)" chilli pepper, older breed than Manganji, is another famous "Kyo-Yasai" branded chilli pepper. Length is about 12cm, and the thickness about 1cm dia. It is also sweet kind of chilli with no capsaicin, and very great once grilled. Also good for pan-frying, simmering, or Tenpura. Especially pan-fried version with small dried fish (Japanese Ikan Bilis) and shoyu-based condiments has been the historical Kyoto summer cuisine, "Obansai". (Shell Life) 18 months Frozen.
