Liqueur derived from distillation in discontinuous alembic of aniseeds and other aromatic spices, that enhance the freshness of the Mediterranean green anise, produced according to the original recipe created in 1870 by Silvio Meletti. Sweet, delightful, aged for the time required to ensure that the distilled anise youth leaves space for aromaticness and bottled with the most modern techniques, ANISETTA MELETTI is a transparent and sincere liqueur, Marche speciality, known all over the world. The Meletti family still preserves the original recipe and guarantees the tradition of one of the oldest liqueur firms in the world. Although the Meletti distillery was founded in Ascoli Piceno in 1870, its origins extend further back in time. As the descendant of generations of distillers, Silvio Meletti developed a passion for distillation and production of liquors at an early age. Starting when he was a child, he worked with his mother to support their large family. His mother’s approach to using stills and knowledge of Italian and French techniques formed the basis upon which Silvio created a new product. The finely tuned recipe and distillation techniques he created are still used to this day in order to produce Anisetta Meletti.
Following the creation of Anisetta Meletti, additional liqueurs were developed in order to satisfy the ever-increasing demand of the brands loyal customers. The study of local herbs and plants, as well as spices imported from overseas, and a sound knowledge of the various production processes led to the creation of the Amaro, Elisir, Rosoli, Grappe, Vermouth and Fernet liqueurs. These liqueurs achieved great success at international competitions, giving rise to the affirmation of Meletti as the Aristocracy of Italian Liqueurs.
151 years after its creation, the Meletti distillery is still a family-owned business which shapes its future with the perspective of a profound history.
