Himalayan Salt Vs. Table Salt

Table salt is largely extracted commercially due to high market demand, which means machines are used to mine and refine the salt before it hits the shelves.

Industrially it's harvested using three processes:

• Deep-shaft mining

• Solution mining

• Solar evaporation

In contrast to that, pink salt is hand-extracted, and goes through minimal post-excavation refining; this allows the end product to retain most of its mineral content and be free of additives.
