Here is why our burdock tea is different, better.
So far in the Japanese history (and it is still mostly the case nowadays) only the burdock roots which were too bad looking due to their weird shape or size to be sold on the markets were used to create burdock tea. Not to mention that they were burdock roots meant to be cooked and not to be turned into tea.
The taste of burdock root depending on the field it grows in, not all the burdocks are cultivated to be turned into burdock tea. However, our 3 burdock fields have been designed to create burdock tea, the one with the richest taste and aromas.
To enhance each subtle flavor of the burdock to the maximum of their potential, each of our fields are cultivated with different farming methods.
In addition, the fields being along the Kitakami River flowing in Iwate Prefecture makes the grounds very rich in minerals and extremely suitable for growing burdock.

Once extracted from the ground the burdocks are washed thoroughly and then squeezed one by one and dried in the sun to bring out all the flavors.

[Roasting] the most important process to determine the taste of burdock tea.
We first check the condition of the burdock root chips, smell the aromas, listen to the sound it makes as it roast, and touch it with your hands to feel it. Finally, we check the taste and use our five senses to get to know what is missing to the flavor, we will then blend with more roasted or less roasted teas to obtain the perfect tea. Only our burdock tea “sommeliers" with experience who know all about burdock’s conditions can do this.

While checking the teas one by one to make sure of their uniformity, they are manually packed in tea bags and packaged.

Burdock root, the king of fibers.

Even though the burdock root which tastes delicious is by far the best vegetable containing not only the highest but also the best balance of soluble and insoluble dietary fibers, it is consumed in only one country in the world, Japan !
Both soluble and insoluble dietary fibers play a very important role in the digestion process working in team with the good bacterias of the intestine that you can get from eating fermented products.
The intestine, also call the “second brain”, is known to produce 95% of the serotonin (the hormone of happiness) versus only 5% for the brain !
A sound intestine is the first step to a better life so why not giving a try to our delicious burdock tea ?
